Acne is made worse by excess sugar and salt. You may not be aware of the amount of sugar/salt consumed in a day from foods like - cereal, soda, flavored sport drinks, desserts, certain tomato based foods, pretzels, crackers, fast food, etc. Too much sugar or salt will have an adverse effect on your body - internally and externally. I think it is important to incorporate more 'whole foods' into your diet - steamed/raw vegetables, fresh fruit, whole grain bread - especially if you have skin problems. Try to eat the super salty/sugary foods in moderation and eat more 'whole foods'. I think you are right, it does matter what you eat.
