On my skin, I didn't have to do anything. Many hours after putting it on I could just rub my finger over my skin and roll the grains of sebum off that had come out of my pores. No pressure, no picking. They were just there waiting to be whisked away. Larger clogged pores will take repeated treatments, spread several days apart to let the sebum come closer to the surface again, but it will zap the smaller ones close to the surface that same day--at least it has every time I've used it. Soon you'll see that your skin is getting so much smoother because all that gunk under there is rising up and out. Imagine someone threw a little sand on your face. That's what this feels like after 8 to l0 hours of this on your face--tiny hard grains ejected from your skin.
I really don't know how this works. Maybe the oils in the formulation get down deep in the pore, dissolve the pore's hold on the sebum and it pops to the surface. Who knows? All I know is that that is what appears to be happening from my observations.
