Wow! I hate to be the bad guy(girl) here, but I used the Aveeno acne bar soap and the next morning there were all red bumps on my face. I called aveeno, they sent me some coupons, and I threw it in the garbage. I guess i should have used the moisturizing bar instead...oh well. Using the Olay foaming wash for sensitive.....so far, so good...but better keep my mouth shut as we all know! Enjoy your oatmeal!
I started using the Aveeno bars for my face 25 days ago. At first I was using the Moisturizing bar, then a week ago I switched to the Combination bar. They are the same exact thing, except the Moisturizing bar also contains hydrogenated vegetable oil (for more moisturizing).
I decided to try these after loving the body wash that Aveeno makes (has kept my SUPER dry skin in the winter to a minimum).
So far I really like the Aveeno bars. I would steer clear of the Acne bar that they make, it just contains salicylic acid (which for my face is HUGE no-no). I am also a believer in the "gentler is better" method at this point, since using tons of harsh soaps, benzoyl peroxide, and salicylic acid were definitely making my face worse.
I still develop pimples, but I didn't expect the Aveeno to stop them. Besides, it's too soon to tell how well it's working. My skin DOES look healthier though, which is a good thing.
Ok great... its been 5 days since ive used it.. It has made my face look better, yet i still have a couple of blemishes. I was thinking of trying Aveeno Clear Complexion cleanser, but wasnt sure if itd be helpful.
I'll continue to use the oatmeal soap till it finish.. and see what happens.
Jlove.. was it u that said that it helped clear up ur skin 95????
i think it's helped clear my skin, in that it doesn't cause it any distress and actually does seem to be genuinely good for the skin.
i think my now practically clear skin is mainly due to a strict vitamin regiment and a change of diet. i've cut out all meat except very, very ocasionally, and nearly all dairy cept for the occasional cheese(small amount), and, of course, no fried foods whatsoever. also, actively trying to avoid refined sugars, although i have had a couple candy bars and a couple big carmel donuts in the last week with no ill effects.
lots of fish, veggies, and fruits. after much trial and error with the vitamins and then the change in diet and the aveeno, i'm finally almost completely clear, with nothing new forming for about a week(which was unheard of) and i'm blaming what happened then on adding b5 to the regiment as i was clearing before it was added(500mg. twice a day). i started my attempts to rid myself of this affliction in the fall and finally started to get the regiment together in late december, so it's only been a month or so.
i've had acne, mild to moderate, since i was like 15, i'm almost 30, male. mostly around the chin and jawline/little bit cheeks, anywhere my beard grows. it hasn't been too long though so i'm sticking with the plan and keeping my fingers crossed. one thing i found strange was that B5 seemed to break me out after i added it, 1g a day for 3 days, i stopped and my face immediately turned back around.
but the aveeno really was a godsend. i'd tried many types of facial cleansers and never like any of them all that much. i really think the aveeno bar has helped. i've heard bad things about their acne bar though

I would stick with the oatmeal bar rather than the Clear Complexion cleanser. The bar is very gentle and doesn't contain harsh or extraneous ingredients. I used to use it too, and liked it a lot!
The Clear Complexion cleanser is much more "commercial" and contains all kinds of stuff that could irritate your skin and clog the pores. Despite the name, it's probably bad news for acne-prone skin.
and do you think that the Aveeno soap is same as the Neutrogena regular soap?
I know that i haev to continue to use the soap to see the result... but im just getting so impatient..
yesterday, my sis commented on how ugly my skin looks and that i needed to make it better.
I use Aveeno Clear Complexion Cleanser and it helped/helps my face lots! I use it every night and then put 2% BHA Lotion from Paula's Choice on, In the morning I use Loay emoillent Cleansing Lotion and apply Neutrogena Multivitamin Lotion on and let it soak in and then apply Olay Total Effects Moisturizer. My face has cleared up lots and the red marks that I have had for months are finally diminishing very quickly. I had also started taking Stress B-complex vitamins and COd Liver Oil recently. And LOTS AND LOTS of water. I think things are finally working.
Wow.. you are using a lot of stuff. But Im glad things are working great for you..
Im so confuse to decide what exactly i need to use. Im still using the aveeno soap.. But i have this scar that i need to get rid of.. red marks, scars, and brown spots. =(
Does BHA helped with that? or is it just for acne?
