Question Derm Visit

I went to the derm on yesterday after using the Lidex steroid cream for so long. He was impressed with how my skin was doing. I have been using the Oil of Olay Total Effects cleanser & Mouisterizer with the Mint Julep mask. Everything started peeling and I had whiteheads. Now he wants me to use some Tazorac (silver/gray & white tube) for some red bumps on my cheeks. He said using the Tazorac will make the bumps go away and make me peel/exfoliate the dead layer of skin and have a new layer of skin. I am not too sure about using the Tazorac. Would you use it or just stick with your regimen?
