Re: Skin has cleared up, does tea help?

I think tea does help. I was sick for two weeks, lost my voice and was drinking alot of hot green tea. I noticed my skin really cleared up. My skin looks smooth and fresh now. It has never really looked like this so I started thinking about what I'd done differently in the past two weeks. I rarely drink tea so that was the major difference. I got curious so I Googled "green tea, acne" and other variations. There are ALOT of articles saying that green tea really helps and the Chinese have used this remedy for years. I guess a doctor named Jennifer Gan-Wong, M.D. did a study and found that green tea works just as good as benzoyl peroxide with the benefit of not drying out your skin! Drinking tea is best because it goes in your system quicker, but apparently there are pills you can take too. Even putting tea bags on acne bumps is supposed to help the swelling! You are also supposed to brew fresh and keep the sugar to a minimum/if any because the sugar can prohibit the "good stuff" in the tea from working.

Hope this helps!

Re: green tea really helps

Thank you soo much for sharing. I couple months ago, well I think about 7 months ago I was started to eat a little better just like eating some fruit be/c I eat very bad! I also have trouble moving my bowels so eating some fruit helped with that and be/c green tea cleans your system I heard (or helped clean it idk whatever) so I decided to drink a cup a day. And it did some too be the best couple of weeks for my skin. It hadn't looked this good since I was very little. Then I got sick and I must say that for some reason the tea didn't help me with my sickness(like didn't make it go away faster) I feel this way be/c when I was sick it was annoying me so I drink soooo much green tea thinking it would make me not sick anymore but it didn't. But I do have to say that it really!!!!! helped my oily face!!!! My face has actually dry! And let me tell that i could wash my face and a half an hour later it would be oily again! So I couldn't believe it. What I wouldn't to ask you is if you know what the tempature of the water the tea bag should be when you put it on your face? Just warm I would guess. I am also going to do a search like you did and if I find anything interesting I will let you know. By the way it was hot tea that I was drinking too. Oh yea and I never put anything in my tea at all. Be/c I'm not really wild about the tea but I want to get the benefits from it so I figure that i'll just drink it without anything so i can get the full effect, you know?
