Post Blackheads...

How do you get those little blackheads off of your nose? Those biore pore-strip thingers only work to a certain extent, but they really don't do much overall.

What can I use to get those little buggers off? I had this big one and I tried to use tweezers to get it out, it then got infected and just went awry. lol. Retin-A didn't work, so what do you guys use?

Thanks

Some girl on another board said to rub Extra Virgin Olive Oil on it and it will come right out. I have not tried this so I don't know if it works. Good luck.

Wouldn't rubbing oil on your face clog your pores even more? Do you just have to make sure you wash your face really really well afterwards?

Ya, I would think olive oil would clog up my nose, or am I wrong about that?

Thanks

No, the olive oil is very good for your skin. I know it sounds crazy, but it is good. The oil helps dissolve the oil.

I am using the Neutrogena Multi-vitamin cream and it is working on the blackheads as well.

So, did you try the olive oil trick? I'm curious if you did and any results?

Ah, the pore strips - those amazing inventions that do battle with our sebacious glands! Before I use the pore strips I steam my face or apply a hot cloth to the area for a few minutes. That opens up the pores and allows the strips to attach better to the dirt (My opinion only - totally unscientific!).

My regimen is salicylic acid gel at night (Clinique Nighttime Acne Treatment Gel), light loofah in the morning to exfoliate, cold water to close and tighten pores, then pore strips about twice a week. When I'm disciplined about it, it's keeps me ahead of the breakout curve. I've found the trick is to let your skin slough off those cells over a few days, but the salicylic acid and exfoliating certinaly helps the process along and prevents more bacteris from getting in there to exacerbate the situation.

Olive oil? Wow, I never would have thought about that! So have you tried it yet? Did you see results?
