ok need some input on hydroquinone......i was recently put on hydroquinone 4% because i have some brown spots from excessive sun exposure while on medication....my derm told me that once they go away i have to cover my face up in the sun b/c they can easily come back, and may come back darker....my question to you is how long will this be for? when will i be able to go back out in the sun again without these damn spots coming back?? do they eventually just go away completely??? please help!!
I used the one from Alpha Hyrdrox, which contained only 2%.. it worked ok to fade away, yet it took forever! Hydroquinone cream made me break out.. so i didnt use it for long.
Im looking for some lightening cream.. but I learned that AHA, or Glycolic acid works better and faster to fade away dark spots and red scars..
I dont think i helped much.. but it will take up to 6 weeks to see result.. Just be sure to wear sunscreen!!
I prefer banana boat vitaskin.. its great!!
hydroquinone is a miracle product, but it does have a price. it faded my brown spots (which i acquired from the birth control pill) really quickly, i saw differences within a week, but it's VERY oily so you will break out. which sucks. it's a trade-off. i'd use it til you're happy with the fading and then stop, maybe switch to glycolic acid or azelex which won't break you out hopefully. and stay out of the sun!!! i was recently in a sunny climate YEARS after i used hydroquinone and my forehead and upper lip spots cam back with a vengeance. however, my cheeks didn't, which was odd. anyway you do have to use sunscreen forever, sorry to say. also i have to tell you that pregnancy brings them out, so if you plan on that, it's a bummer.
ok...thanx for the input, when you had the spots come back, where u wearing any type of sunscreen???? also is there anything else i can do for this to end these spots?? i would really like to go out in the sun once in a while and enjoy the weather....if i wear a strong enough sunscreen, would i be able to go in the sun like that????
