I've been on mino for about 3 weeks now - 100mg a day. So far, my skin has only gotten worse. For anyone who is on this drug, is it normal to experience a breakout in the beginning? Also, how long did you take it before you started seeing clearer skin? Thanks so much - I'm new here!

I noticed similar stuff on my third week, but I dont know if its contributed to Mino. Its an antibiotic so it shouldnt really do that.

I've been on mino since Oct. It cleared me up instantly and haven't had any major problems since. I did not get an initital breakout.

I'm sure your breakout has nothing to do with Mino. It's an antibiotic, and it should theoretically stop the bacteria from causing new breakouts; but you probably know this already.

When I started Mino one year ago, I did break out, but that had more to do with my breakout "cycle" than with Mino. Luckily, I saw noticeable improvement from Mino after six weeks, and was clear after eight weeks. My acne was moderate with ocassional cysts.

Thanks, Evelyn! Your post made a lot of sense. Hopefully this breakout will end soon and I will start to see the results of the antibiotics!

I started taking Mino in Dec. 2001, and took 100mg 2x daily. I'm now down to 100mg every other day.
