Post ice water

A local doctor stated that washing the skin with very cold water shrinks the tissue surrounding the oild glands. Therefore ice water opens the pores rather than closing them. He said this was a good treatment once a day to help drain the pores. Is he correct?

The book "Acne Cure" states that cooling the face with ice reduces the inflammation around pores caused by built up sebum (i.e. pimples) and allows your product to enter the pores.

However, the pharmacist told me yesterday that it would close the pores.

I hate contradictory information!! You may want to check out some of the Acne Cure threads and ask someone there if they find this method is helpful or not.

The man that stated ice closes the pores is a well respected doctor. It makes sense that the inflamation would be decreased and the pores opened with ice.
