Post Paula's Choice, Proactive and feeling down...

For about a month and a half I have started a new system for my skin which includes Paula's Choice 1% BHA and a BP and taking vitamins and my skin has been doing better than it was when I was on Differin (which I despise now), but this past week I have become frustrated once more. It seems things are popping up but I have to take into consideration that I started my period which I am sure is the cause, and my mood.

This has been the first week since I started Paula's Choice that I have become upset about my acne and I am beginning to wonder if it is working of if I should increase to the 2% lotion. My major problem are those small bumps that are completely visable but I can feel and I want to get rid of. I was told I need to start using a BHA which is why Paula's Choice came into play. While I feel it working it some instances the bumps really aren't going away. How long did it take for most people for this to work?

Also I saw an infomercial about Proactive and I am always a sucker for commercials and it seems like a miracle product and I am wondering how it worked for people? I have read that it would work great but then the acne returned a complete months later...and I don't know if I have the type of acne that Proactive would be beneficial for....should I just stick with the Paula's Choice? I feel as though my mood also has to do with my period and I am just kinda feeling down about my acne right now. Thanks everyone.

Steph

Thumbs up

Sure, you should try the 2%! It is not SUPER strong or scary or anything...I use it every single night. It took only a matter of days for me to see good results in my skin from using this! You can email Paula's Choice customer service and request free samples of it. It comes in a liquid solution form and a lotion form. The liquid solution takes a while to absorb into your skin, but it doesn't have as much of a chance for clogging your pores as the lotion does. The lotion is also a bit more moisturizing, so if you have oily skin you probably don't need the extra moisture.

I also liked Proactiv. But, I found that it was too drying and too expensive, and my face is doing even better with Paula's Choice.

So, give the PC 2% a try for at least a couple of weeks or so...then if it doesn't improve, then I'd suggest trying Proaciv! Both companies have a money back guarantee, so it's pretty much safe!

Good luck!

Besides the Paula BHA 2% do you use any of the other products?

Smile

I use the 1% BHA every day, and the 2% BHA solution (liqiud) every night.

I used the Blemish Fighting Solution (2.5% BPO), and it was pretty good. It's just that I currently do not have any blemishies, so I don't need it anymore. The BHA really helps to stop the blemishes before they can even form!

I've also used her 8% AHA. It was also pretty good, but I prefer to use Alpha Hydrox's AHA just because it is available in drugstores and just as good.
