And while i was on it it cleared my skin up apart from the odd red mark under the skin.
Now i have stopped taking it all my yellow heads have come back with real avengeance!
So am not going to bother about going back to the doctors and get more/different pills and i am just going to ride it out.
What i was wondering tho, if anyone can recommend any good soaps for my skin that i can buy online, cause i have never really put that much thought into what i use and i'm sure there is something better for my skin than the one i am currently using (just any odd soap from the shops lol)
Lee, I am really sorry to hear that once you have stopped the Mino, that you're flairing up! Darn it! I just started mino 3 days ago and it is working already. I DID in fact ask the derm what happens when I stop the antibiotic, and she said that at that point she would try something topical(an antibiotic) but that we shall see what happens. Maybe that is something you can look into if you dont want to take the oral antibitic anymore.
As far as your cleansing routine, I think alot of us here(me included) make a BIG deal on what magic cleanser we are using, but the truth is you need to find something that is non abrassive, gentle and mild. I have also heard that soaps in bar form are something to stay away from. There are many good ideas if you raom around these boards enough. Hope this is helpful.
Its really strange, cause many people i have spoken too said the acne stayed away when they stopped, but then others say it came back sometimes the same, sometimes worse, its a bit of a mystery!
Its different for everyone, this is the 2nd time i have took Mino so it might have something to do with that, who knows. I really hope you have success with it
*me goes to trawl through the board looking for soaps* hehe
i'm pretty admantly against antibiotics in general, but i am sorry to hear they didn't work out for you. i agree with your decision about not going back to trying more pills. There do seem to be a lot of good ideas about cleansers around here, so good luck finding one. I never imagined in my teens i'd spend this much time obsessing about pores and cleansers and bacteria, etc.
hey all, I actually have seborheic dermatitis (spelling) and I found that the nizoral 2% shampoo I got from the derm ahs given my skin back it's regular look the accutane is working so well for me and I am only just into my 2nd month of the 4 month course, I can barely see a single spot, just a few not-very-noticeable ones, a couple of under the skin bumps and a buncha red marks that make my skin look a bit blotchy close up, but other than that i'm definitely getting clearer by the day, and accutane is also taking care of my scars as well, my nose which had loadsa indents on in now practically smooth and produced no oil now unlike before when it went all shiny and greasy, and the surrounding pores are all closing up it is such a good feeling ;D
Of course i'm not in the clear yet, hopefully soon I will be though
