First of all i want to say that its not my meaning to bring you down in anyway..I'd just like to share this with you...
I rent videos almost every week but the last time iget so depressed by them...Not really by the storylines but by the skin of the actors/actresses ...And i know its all make up ...but i just want to have a clear healthy shiny skin so badly...I mean sometimes i wonder why we were the ones chosen to have acne...Sorry but acne is ruining my life and worst of all my future! I want to become an actor but i dont have any confidence left....Acne totally destroys my motivation and selfrespect....I dont even dare looking myself in the mirror....Only when the lights are out and the curtains are closed...Because then i dont see those nasty pimples/redness on my skin...Then i can just dream away for one second imagining myself with perfect clean skin...But yeah, unfortunately dreams rarely come true...

I totally hear what your saying, but you also have to understand a few things...Hollywood is all FANTASY and make-believe, they make their money on all of our hopes and dreams....they have lighting people, makeup, hair, stylists, touch-ups, body doubles, photo approval, and not to mention the money to pay for anything to help them look their best!! The only thing I dont envy actors, actresses, models, etc. is that for the most part, their careers are based on their looks..ope this puts things in a better perspective for you...
A fantasy land where everyone is rich and can get whatever their heart desires. Sure there is makeup and lighting ect, but these celebrities pay top dollar for great skin care products and get facials and peels ALL of the time, so their skin is bound to be much better than the average.
since you mentione celebrity skin....the other day i was reading an article by some expensive *** big shot skin specialist. He's worked with Tom cruise, Denzel Washington, Julia Roberts and many more. He says skin care is very simple. You need an exfoliant and an anti-bacterial. that's it.
He suggests to use BP at night and aha/retinol during the day. Nothing more.
It makes sense, doesn't it? Just thought i'd mention it.
Nice derm! HA, BP is such a waste. It never did anything but dry out my skin and make it red. I am so sick of derms who act like they know it all. Most of their products are irritating and just useless. What about the derms who are covered with zits themselves? Yeah, that's surely a good sign-ha. What about proactiv where one of the main ingredients is BP, yet for some people it just stops working??? That's no good!
I highly doubt that most celebrities are piling on BP. There are probably much better products to use that are also less irritating, but the so-called "skin specialist" just wanted to reach out the audience who probably couldn't afford any better.
And the exfoliating treatments celebs use are top of the line, as well as collagen facials and god only knows what else.
i couldnt relate to you more. i was looking for jobs the other day in the newspaper and i found the perfect job. it stated: actors and actresses needed for walkon role. ages 16-18. no exp. necessary. $500 a day. i couldnt believe this oppurtunity! but then i remembered my face and the acne. it really brought me down. yes, ive wanted to become an actress ever since i remember. im just like you, now all i notice when im watching movies is the actors' skin. i become almost jealous. but now i guess ill have to come over it. besides, id want a private life, you know without every one knowing my name and paparazzi following me everywhere. but if you are still determined, just wait a little longer, your face will clear eventually. just be optimistic, there are way better things in life.
acne, the greatest battle ever fought
I work in a building that also has a famous modeling agency in it. I've seen a few models with acne, especially the girls. Nothing severe, just a few zits here or there. The majority of them have, or look like they have, perfect beautiful skin. You can tell that most of them have makeup on, though, so I don't know how much is natural good skin and how much is makeup.
The skin on their bodies is always so perfect. No disgusting backne like me. That's what really makes me sad and depressed about myself.
I guess when your whole career and whole life is based on your looks, you HAVE to be clear, and you will do whatever you have to to do get yourself clear.
In some ways I'm glad I'm not them, because that's all they have -- appearance. You look into the eyes of some of them and there's nothing there -- no spark, no warmth, just vacuousness. (And some of them are DUMB, but I shouldn't stereotype. LOL)
You really shouldn't be complicit in the stereotyping of actors and models. A number of them attend great colleges, graduate with honors, hold advanced degrees, have high I.Q.s, and accrue just as much insight through reflection/hardship/vicarious living as the next person. To presume pretty people are vacuous might be a form of wish-fulfillment; certainly such presumption on behalf of the public undermines in a less-cultivated model/actor their motivation to develop into a multi-dimensional creature.
