Angry Why does mineral make up break me out?

Everyone else raves about Bare Escentuals and Jane Iredale. I have tried both of these, love how they look, but they end up breaking my face out. My liquid foundation never does this and you'd think it would. The BE and JI both make my face a bit oily but so does the liquid. Any advice on why it does this? I love how it looks on...

Hi Misty,
Who are we to question why these great mineral alternatives are breaking you out? Consider yourself one of the lucky ones who has found a liquid foundation that DOES not break you out.......why not just stick with it? I'd like to use many other "beauty products" out there, but my skin just won't let me.....I have to deal with it and take the huge hint from my skin that it just does NOT like it.
I agree wih you that BE looks fab when applied correctly, but I couldn't even find a shade to match me without mixing this one and that one. Who has time for that?? And then cleaning up the spilled mess of the minerals in the bathroom? Oh heck, I'm just trying to make you feel better and confident about what you ARE using. Some things just aren't for everyone. Regards, D-

Dee,

Thanks for replying!! I guess I should just stick w/ my liquid stuff and be done w/ it. One day, I hope to not wear foundation at all. That probably won't be for a very long time though. I have so many red marks from the previous breakouts. I've tried going w/ out foundation and don't feel so bad looking in the mirror at home but as soon as I see myself outside or under horrible flourescent lights, I scream! I just feel so yucky wearing foundation. I can never seem to get the color right (I go to the tanning bed every now and then and tan easily so my make up is always too light or too dark).

Oh well... damned if I do, damned if I don't! :P

It's true...BE and JI just don't work for everybody. If you like the way mineral makeup looks (like I do!), there are several other companies who use different formulations, so they might not contain the exact mineral that is breaking your skin out.

2 to look into that I've heard good things about:
*Aromaleigh
*Canary

Good luck!
