Hi. Im on Retin-A Micro with this Brevoxyl (8% benzoyl peroxide creamy wash) cleanser prescribed by my dermatologist, and i've been on it for like 8 months.

It made my skin clearer(mild/moderate), but my skin remains oily(with constant breakouts and i am sick and tired of putting like 6 lotions on my face. (not to metion that i have to wash my face frequently).

my next appointment is set up on sep 28th.
i know my skin wont get any clearer than this by using other methods. do you guys think that my dermatologist would agree if i ask him for Accutane? I mean, i'm just wondering what my next step of treatment is. Thanks

it really depends on the derm, but chances are if accutane is really what you want to take then your derm will prescribe it. im taking it now (im at the end of the 2nd month and clear

), and have not had any serious side effects. most people only experience the dry/cracked lips and dry skin, and some experience a little hair thinning. there are serious risks with accutane, but with a lower occurence rate then people make it seem like.

hey i was in the same boat as u; being on retin a for ayear didt do anything but make me really oily. Now im done with 2 months of accutane and clear and not oily. go for it, if ur derm says no then go to a new derm and get it.
