Post Accutane and the sun???

Can anyone recommend a good oil free sunscreen???

Also has anyone had negative effects while being on accutane and being in the sun??? I am on 20mg and have been tanning without problems. I am going to the Carribean next week and am very worried. I am the type of person who hardly burns and uses baby oil. I have been in the Carribean sun before and never had to once put on sunscreen. I hear that accutane changes your skin. Should I be concerned?...

To be honest, Accutane will not hurt you as much in the sun like antibiotics or topicals can. Accutane dries out your bodies production of oil and so does the sun so you are basically just getting a double dose of it. In some facets, getting in the sun can make your Accutane experience shorter, but this could also be very dangerous. You can find plenty of suncreens to work. Just look for something 15 and beyond that is sweatproof, waterproof, oil free, and non comedogenic. To be honest almost all sunscreens are like this. I'd say look for something like Banana Boat Sport. Good Luck and have a fun trip.

Anthor-- I have been on accutane for about 5 weeks. I'm not completely clear, but I am a lot less oily. The only side effect I've been having is a little dry lips.

Thanks Tummy-- I have never had any problems with my skin being sun sensitive whatsoever. I have a natural olivy complexion. I have used topical treatments while sunbathing in the past like retina micro and have never had any problems. I like being sunburn resistant, it's the one of the only things that I love about my skin and I would be pretty disappointed if accutane changed that...
