Benzaclin Tropical Gel

Anyone try this?

It was given to me by my dermatologist yesterday for my back.

It contains clindamycin-benzoyl peroxide.

Anyone have any feedback on it?

I'll tell you guys how it works. :P

i LOVED this product. i had been using it for over a year and then i lost my health insurance so i am not on it anymore and let me tell you, i want it back! i am back to the normal BP and my skin is better, but i still get major cysts, cysts i wouldn't normally get if i was still on benzaclin or duac gel. keep using it!!!!

Thumbs up from me, too! It's what my derm gave me, and I hardly ever have breakouts now. It works REALLY well in my opinion. I've tried other product, but I always come back to Benzaclin because it's the only thing that works for me. I love it!

Wow, thanks guys! I haven't seen much improvement yet, but I'm still using the sample she gave me, because my parents haven't bought the prescription yet. :)

This was the worst product I ever used. This product made me need Accutane. I had much better success with Benzamycin.

I have been using this medication and Differen gel together every night before bed. I was told originally to use both twice a day, but that dried out my skin too much so I cut back to bedtime only. I love both the meds I use - worked tons better than Retin A and doesn't need refrigeration like the Erythromycn gel (spelling?) that I was using before. I love the fact that if I get an especially bad pimple that starts to surface, I just put a spot of the stuff on it over night and let it dry, usually by morning the pimple is almost gone!

Yeah, I think it's the only medication that actually gets rid of forming blemishes before they flare up. It's especially good on the big red ones I used to get once every 4/5 months. I really do think it's a good med. Be careful of side affects, though, and a little bit goes a long way.

What are the side effects?

PurpleBetta 08-16-2003 09:18 PM

I can't remember all the side affects, but one that got me is it makes your stomach ache. I usually take acidopholus (SP?) when I put it on my face, and it works well.
