Question Doctors Apt Next Week

Next week I'll be going to the doc to get something for my acne. Are there any products anyone could recomend? I dont want any oral medication, just topical gels, lotions, stuff like that. I was thinking of asking for retina-A. Before using this can you wash your face with a bar soap? If so what soap is good? I have been using neutrogina clean&clear bar soap for sensitive skin, it seems to make my skin feel better but only for a couple hours. Is there a better soap out there that can be used with retin-A, what about sulphur soap??? What is that, I've hear about it but I know nothing about it.

What's wrong with oral medications? Differin cream, Clindamycin gel and MINOCYCLINE pills made me 100% clear where I would have to try to break out, untill I made a stupid mistake and stopped it all so now I'm recovering..

Whats wrong with oral medications is that I already have to take enough pills for ADHD. I don't wanna be taking any more. I have been on one oral medication for acne started with a D, dont remember the name anywayz it didnt work.

I don't want to take any oral antibiotics either. I've decided the only thing that I'll be taking is my birth control pill (and I'd leave that if I could).

I've already tried just about everything, including minocycline. I used that, along with tazorac cream. It worked GREAT for like 4 months (after I got passed the month of having a red peeling face from the cream).

Right now I'm washing my face with Paula's choice cleanser for oily/combo skin and then using her 2% BHA liquid and it's working very well. I put the 2.5% BP basically on my T-ZONE area and I'm just about clear; just working on some old spots. The stuff will make a difference, just gotta be a little patient. Yes, it sucks, but I would do this over the Retin-A (that didn't work), the Differin (that didn't work), Azelex (didn't work), Tazorac (didn't work), and all of the medicated cleansers that made my face look and feel terrible.

Did you experience breakouts when you first started using Paula's Choice BHA. I started using the 1% BHA about 3 weeks ago and my skin was great the first week but now its really bad (worse than what it was before starting it. Should I continue with it? I don't use the Alpha Hydroxy Acid and just use Neutrogena's clear pore lotion or just water for cleansing.

Any suggestions????

I didn't get any breakouts really, BUT, it seemed to bring a lot of gunk to the surface. I got little tiny bumps that didn't really turn into pimples, but then dried out along with the rest of what was on my face. And I just got the 2% bha right off the bat; because I thought I was pretty bad.

I honestly don't have any suggestions. I'm going trial and error here myself. I bought some alpha hydrox lotion but am not using it yet and don't know if I am ready to try it. As of right now, I just have one kinda new pimple on my face; so, for me to say that this regimine is the cure, wouldn't be right; and I don't know what is.
