Hello guys and girls. I just wanted to tell you about something very common you could try for your acne problems. My husband is 35 now but when he was a teenager or around that time he had acne so bad that he was embarrassed about it. He went to numerous dermatologist but never found an answer. He accidently discovered that COAST BAR SOAP did the trick. He used it every day to wash his face and his face actually cleared up. If we run out of soap and we forget to get coast, he starts getting pimples immediately but as soon as the coast soap comes in and he uses it for a day or so, he is clear again. I know it sounds silly but it works for him. Good Luck, I hope it'll do something for you too!
My brother had amazing success using Dial soap to wash his face which is like Coast soap...They are both antibacterial soaps...I found it effective as well by too drying...
I am glad I saw this topic. As an adult male with acne, I am always curious as to what my "clear" friends use to wash with. Don't you know, most of them just use either Dial or Irish Spring soap in the shower! They don't have seperate "facial cleansers" and all that stuff.
I would never even have thought to try these, since everything you read says that these types of soap make acne worse. Hmmm, I remember just using regular soaps like this up to the age of 27, and never worried about acne so much.
I recently bought some Dial Antibacterial with vitamins, and am using it in the shower. Has a very pleasant scent, and rinses clean. I have only been using it a week, so hard to say if it's helping/hurting. I do get dry skin in the winter, but not usually in the summertime, so not sure if I could use this soap year round.
I am a 25 year old male, and have just tried using Purpose cleanser and now alph Hydrox cleanser.
I am using an AHA and BHA so I was trying to use a
"gentle" cleanser, but I might just switch to one of
these antibacterials, becaue I am not seeing much change from the others.
On the other hand it might just be the people who use these other soaps just are not prone to acne and could use anything on their faces.
Please keep me informed about how its going,
Thanks
I used Dial soap on my face and it dried out my face horribly! I even started peeling, but I tried it with aloe and used Pro-Active lotions on it. It made my acne disapear, except I still have red and slightly purple-ish scars...they are not that noticable when i wear makeup, but w/o you can see them. What can I do to remove them or make them less noticable?
One of the problems with using bar soap on your face is it leaves behind a wax "mask" on your face. People with clear skin aren't bothered by this, probably because they are not acne prone. When you use the soap, the wax in it acts like a barrier on your face...
Certain soaps don't contain this, but it has to specifically say so.
