Hi Homer,
I have used Salac for about 10 years now and its very good for body acne. Some pharmacies have it readily available over the counter, but most make you order it or they keep it behind the counter. You do not need a prescription for it and if they don't have it in stock, they can order it and get it in a day or two. Also, I don't need it near as much as I used to and on the days I don't use Salac, I use the Dial Body Wash.
I apply mine with a body scrub brush. When in the shower/bath, apply a quarter size directly to wet skin (I start with my chest). Then rub it/spread it with the brush. I then apply a small amount to shoulders and your brush will then have plenty for the back area.
Salac is the only thing I really order consistently at the pharmacy, so when the pharmacist sees me coming, she knows what I'm after. One time my pharmacist asked me why I need this stuff....said I had pretty skin. I smiled and said "Exactly!"
Try Salac; I bet you will be pleased. It is around $8 for 6 oz. It should last a good 6-8 weeks.
