Post Smooth skin because of azelaic acid?

Hey there,
I'm still using Skinoren every morning and night. I'm not sure how well it is working - I'm still getting breakouts and I don't know how well it is working on the red marks. I seem to have good days and bad days (I guess everyone does).

What I'm wondering is whether it is common that your skin becomes smoother when you're using azelaic acid? Since I've been using it, if you were to run your hands over my skin, you would only feel one or two 'bumps' and the rest would feel silky smooth. Every time I wash my face I can feel the smoothness.

It doesnt' really LOOK smoother but it feels it. Is this common?

Thanks,
Dave
