do you really think that's a good idea? from what i know, the spiro raises yer potassium level and this is somehting that absolutely be kept in check, otherwise you might have a stroke...do those of you who self prescribe get your blood tested every now and then? Is it so hard to get it prescribed by a doc that one has to skirt around him/her?

I've been on Spiro for about 5 months now.I have only had my blood checked out once and that was because I wasn't feeling right.Everything tested fine though.So far my experience with Spiro is that I can eat pretty much whatever I want and there are only a few foods that I noticed will alter things.Fish and Spiro is a big no no for me.And watermelon doesn't go to well with it either.Ibuprofen will also worsen things quite a bit I have noticed.I think as long as you avoid the things that alter your sense of well being on Spiro you will be fine.Thats just my opinion though.

i go to my doctor and have to have a smack test every 3 months.this is a blood test.spiro can clot ur blood.im on 100 mgs a day.spiro is a last resort and not a drug to play with.go to a good md,derm, or endo!!!!!!
