Post 'The Acne Cure' & My Dermatologist

Seems like more and more doctors these days are waiving off the anti-biotics & retinoids and reserve the Accutane for extremely severe acne.

Whats left? The good old traditional 3 step method of:

Salycilic Acid 2%
Glycolic Acid 8%
Benzoyl Peroxide 5%

------------------------------

This method was introduced to me in the book everyone knows about now: THE ACNE CURE.

My DERMATOLOGIST's methods are pretty similar to my readings of this wonderful book.

I have tried this method of the 3 medications listed above MORNING AND NIGHT - and I have a clear face - except a couple small zits here and there, but nothing like before.

I have stopped my RETIN and should stop the MINO soon.

Just 2 times a day, morning and night, is enough for clear skin. If you feel u need to wash your face during the hot mid-day - water will do. Trust me.

The book also talks about how your bodys natural oil can be helpful. This is very true. Sometimes, if your skin is too dry with no natrual oil, then u break out.

I agree a little oil is beneficial for skin. I purposely do not go over 6 grams of B5 because I like having a little oil at the end of the day. I get no breakouts and my skin is soft and smooth. I think your skin has a better glow to it also when you retain a bit of moisture and don't try for completely dry skin. My oil comes out evenly all over my face, so it's not like I have a shiny nose and forehead by the end of the day, just a nice overall moisturized look that could easily be mistaken for something intentional.

You guys keep forgetting to mention the 4th step of The Acne Cure = moisturizer with at least SPF15 to prevent skin from drying due to the first three steps and protect it from the sun.

I've been doing the regimen since Wednesday of last week, so far, it's working out great. I'm far from being cured but from the results I've gotten in a short span of time, I can say that the system has promise. And I'm very excited about it.

Sorry for the piggyback but I have a related question.

I've been trying the acne cure, minus the glycolic acid (had to order it and it has not arrived yet) for 2 weeks now. My first week seemed great. Now I've noticed the pores on my face seem to be consistently bumpy everywhere. I'm afriad i'm going to start breaking out in clusters of whiteheads again. Is this a possible reaction to the S.A.? Has anyone had a similar reaction happen to them?

So how shall I apply that to my back? Would you recommend a squeegee maybe? A spong tied to a stick? How about a pressure washer?
