Now, as to other alternatives, this site is teeming with suggestions. My approach would be to start radically experimenting with your diet. This takes TIME! Make sure you don't just say "OK I will eat 'healithy' for a month and see what happens". This is the dead end approach.
You need to find out if something is causing the breakouts. For example, go for one month without ANY dairy and see what happens. Then go the next month on the 'no grain diet'. Then go the next month on the predominantly vegetable diet. This approach can clear a lot of people. The amount of times I've heard ppl say "OMG I got rid of [insert random food type] from my diet and now I'm clear!". Once you've gone thru this process (be strong), then you can be sure that diet does not cause acne FOR YOU.
So then you can try something like proactive, or B5 route, or topicals, and if you're really desperate, then antibiotics (but this is highly inadvisable)
