It depends how bad the acne is and is it really due to the hormonal imbalance? If this is the case, you doctor can prescribe you certain pills to help balance the hormones, but also help with the bacteria under the skin. Do you go through a routine with cleansing and moisturising the face? If not, then you have a lot of dirt and oil underneath the surface, therefore you shouldn't jump to conclusions saying its due to hormones when it may not be.
