I have taken Biotin for many years, without any problems. Recently I started to break out really bad, and can not find out the cause. I now suspecting the biotin. Has anyone heard of it causing acne?
Biotin can break certain people out.It has to do with bacteria in your gut so it is really not surprising since bacteria feeds off oil and causes acne.
Seems most people can handle small doses of it,but it is really not something most people are deficient in so large doses are only putting you at more risk.
I have mild acne anyways, but when I was on Biotin it got so much worse. As soon as I stopped using it,and my body readjusted I was fine again. This happened 3 times before I realized what was causing it.

I hv been taking biotin supplements for about a year now.Three months into the program,i started developing bad breakouts(prior to that i had reasonably clear skin).Three weeks back i connected my skin condition to the biotin intake(bout 1200 mcg a day). Now the breakouts hv reduced a bit and the scars are fading and face is less oily.I would like to know, how long does it take to completely recover from the biotin related acne condition?
