Re: Bactrim & Differin CREAM
Hi there! Unfortunately, I am not familiar with Bactrim but I have mild acne and I currently use Differin gel .1% along with clindamycin phoshate (topical antibiotic lotion). I really like it! It takes about 2 months to see some results (for me at least and I had horrible whiteheads everywhere on my chin and occasional pimples that would take awhile to go away) but it really does work!! All my whiteheads are gone and the occasional pimple I do get goes away in a couple days. At night I do the following: 1. wash with dove sensitive skin facial cloths (soap-free, really gentle and gets all makeup off) 2. Let skin dry for about 20-30 mins 3. apply small amount of differin to my chin (the only area i need it on according to my derm) 4. let that dry and soak in for the same amount of time (20-30 mins) 5. mix equal parts of clindamycin with oil-free moisturizer (neutrogena oil-free moisture for sensitive skin w/out spf) and apply all over face and let that dry. i find that if i just use clindamycin alone all over my face, it makes my skin very oily- i have dry sensitive skin 6. use 2.5% of Benzoyl peroxide as spot treamtment. benzoyl peroxide works really well in conjuction with clindamycin. Then in the morning, I do the same thing just without the differin and the moisturizer i use to mix the clindamycin with is oil-free and has spf 30. I hope this helps! Maybe ask your derm about doing a topical antibiotic like clindamycin... Sorry for the long reply! Take care and best of luck with everything!
