accutane - rectal bleeding

so i have been on accutane for 10 days except i skipped pills three times already because of rectal bleeding. the first time it bled, i did notice a bit of pain but now it's almost painless. i do feel a bit of pressure on my liver but it's been on and off. it stopped bleeding for a while and then it started again so i stopped once again. what should i do? every time i start again, i start bleeding again.

Re: accutane - rectal bleeding

dressyglitters, you should stop taking the accutane immediately and call your doctor. rectal bleeding is mentioned in the drug's information as a severe side effect that warrants terminating the drug. in recent years accutane has been linked to the development of chronic (which means it never fully goes away) inflammatory bowel diseases like ulcerative colitis and crohn's disease. this drug is NOT something you want to mess around with carelessly!
