Don't EVER take vitamins/supplements on an empty stomach. I learned my lesson once a few years ago when I took a multi-vitamin on an empty stomach and had the same result as you had. UGH! Now, I always make sure to have some kind of food or snack with my vitamins.
i remember the first time i took zinc.boy was that the worst feeling ever,it was on an empty stomach.i was so eager to try it out,but wasnt hungry,so i tossed in a pill.and in 5 minutes felt like if my intestines were gonna come out.ive never felt like throwing up so bad.i have thrown up like twice in my life only,but this zinc made me puke for like an hour.
god, i've NEVER had a problem taking any supplement on an empty stomach! everybody's different i guess. but i have to ask: for all you who had stomach problems from zinc, what kind of zinc was it (e.g., gluconate, citrate, etc.), how much, and in tablet or capsule form? i take 25mg zinc gluconate tabs 2-3 times a day, usually between meals.<p>[This message has been edited by tommy jojo (edited 05-10-2001).]
