Is it true that acne can cause swollen lymph nodes?

Is it true that acne can cause enlarged lymph nodes in the neck due to the fact that zits are infections? Do any of you have one or more swollen lymph nodes in your neck?

We have been told by the doctor that this can happen. It happened to my daughter with swollen nodes in her armpits and behind her ears. It only happened once though.

Yes, I get them just under my jawbone towards the back on the same side as a cyst. Sometimes they take longer to go away than the cyst.

Yep, me too! I get them under my jaw. At least now I know the reason I get them.

I noticed that it is the other way around for me. When i get a bad allergy attack, my lymph nodes get quite swollen. After about a week i break out. Recently I had a really bad allergy period, so bad i couldnt hear out of my ears. anyways after just over a week i broke out as usuall. grrr i hate this!!!

Re: Is it true that acne can cause swollen lymph nodes?

I have gotten what I thought were cysts behind my ears but maybe they are swollen lymph nodes like you guys are talking about. Sometimes I also get these hard, marble shaped cysts in my ear lobes. If I touch them they hurt big time!!! Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks.

Anita-
I get those on the middle of my ear. They aren't big but they hurt big time. Sometimes even if I don't touch them. I don't know what they are but I don't get them that often.

The hard marble cysts in your earlobes are actually zits. I get them too, and I can pop them from the back of my earlobe (a challenging maneuver) which is how I know they're zits. Yes, they hurt like he11.
