Hell yeah it helps!! I'm sure everyone on this board will agree with me. It seems no matter the prescription my derm gives me, it won't work to it's full potential, unless I drink lots of water. I drink between a half gallon to a gallon a day.
I drink tons of water a day... my mother moaned at me to drink it for years. Even though I still have acne I am glad I have started drinking loads of it as my skin does look a lot healthier with it... as well, water does flush through your pores and clears out all the toxins, right?
Yeah, water does help. It flushes out all the impurities in our skin and everything. I've been drinking alot of water and i think it's improved my complextion. I think it's alot better than drinking all that soda and stuff.
Plus, when you drink a lot of water, you're helping out your entire body. Your skin isn't so dry, your eyes feel moist (not dry or irritated), you eliminate waste much more quickly and easily (not to be graphic, or anything).
I find that my energy level soars when I drink plenty of water on a daily basis. People who use stimulants (ie., caffeine, No-Doze, etc.) really don't need them--if only they'd drink enough water to regulate their bodies. I'm almost positive that insomniacs may have better sleep if they had enough water, too. Just my thoughts.
Do you just drink regular tap water? Or Bottled spring water, distilled water? I have done alot of research on distilled water, and found out that the myth that it robs your body of all its minerals, is just simply that, a myth. Distilled water is the purest form of water there is and that is what I have started drinking recently. It actually does have a "flat" or more bland taste, well not that water has a taste, but if any of you out there drink it, you will know what I am talking about. I am trying to drink at least 48-64 oz. a day. I do think it helps the skin in general.
OK, I don't mean to be dumb.. what is distilled water.. is it like sparkling / carbonated / fizzy water or something? I only ever drink still mineral water from the bottle... I find sparkling water makes me have um.... wind and tap water here is just ewie.
Jooxwoman... I am going to reply to your emails tomorrow I am calling it a night now!
of course getting your water is overall healthy but I wouldn't expect it to be a miracle cure. I used to never get my daily water in and had great skin for years.
my problems started after dieting and getting in about 1 1/2 gallons of water/day evenly while awake which I still do and I haven't noticed any differences especially since my skin has gone to hell.
but who knows maybe for some who treat themselves like crap, could see a positive difference when drinking more water. We know its really important and if your a guy for example you could probably drink a gallon of water/day. If your drinking caffiene and not that much your probably not hydrating yourself properly and it makes sense something might screw up inside.
Distilled water is basically evapourated water that's recondensed therefore its mostly H2O molecules since no/few other molecules (specifically minerals) evaourate at that tempurature.
Anyway, me being Canadian and using the metric system, can anyone tell me how many ounces there are in a pound, and how many ounces = 1 litre of water. grr...its the 21st century everyone! Metric is the way to go!! Just kidding
Distilled water may not "rob" your body of minerals, but it is still devoid of minerals that are important to get. If you drink tap water you'll get fluoride, for example, which is a really good thing!
I agree with whoever said it though, I hate the taste of tap water. I drink spring water or mineral water.
Along with floride from the tap water, tap water contains a variety of poisons, such as chlorine, asbestos, pesticides, copper and mercury & lead to name a few....so that is why I won't drink it,,,I will get my floride treatments from my dentist twice a year instead!! Anyway, I will drink spring water if distilled isn't available. Either choice is surely better than tap water!!!!!
