Re: redness around pimple?

AHHHH! I have done that MANY times......squeezed so hard I have actually peeled the first layer of skin off around the zit(becuz ya swear ya see something in there that is going to pop, right?!!).......icing it may help a little bit but unfortunately I have not found anything to REALLY help 100%. Neosporin helps sometimes too. Just resist the urge to pick and squeeze some more! I know its hard, but leaving it alone is the best advice I can give ya right now! Good luck to ya! <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif">

Re: redness around pimple?

My friend gave me a great tip. Put a metal spoon in the freezer for a while, until it gets frosty and really cold. Splash some warm water on your zit, then dry it off and place the spoon up against your skin. 1. It feels really good and 2. It reduces the redness a bit. Good luck. I know how that feels!!!

I think you got confused. A hot compress will bring a cyst to a head... and a cold compress will reduce swelling and redness.

But if it's redness caused by damaging your skin by popping, then only things like neosporin, tea tree oil (or whatever you have on hand to keep moisture in and help heal) will help

Well it is the next day and the redness has gone down a bit...but i got another damn zit in the same area! Ahh I hate when that happens, O well by tommorow it will look a lot better I know. BTW why a metal spoon?..Wouldnt ice work just the same?
