During my last derm visit, I asked about a whitehead that I have that has been there for a few weeks. She indicated that it is a mild cyst and not a whitehead. She also told me that if it does not go away by itself, which it probably won't, she could remove it but it will leave a scar.
Any suggestions? Has anybody else had something similar? I appreciate the input!
You could try using tea tree oil to bring it to a head.
I have had some success using this method to get rid of really persistant cysts (the kind that will stay for monthes otherwise). The downside with this method is if you aren't gentle once it comes to a head, you could end up with a scar. So if you choose to try this...be careful. Take care
Did the bump ever go down or come to a head? Have you tried warm compresses or ice? I know some people say that ice does not do much once it is inflamed, but I have found that on some of the bumps I get -- when I ice them -- it comes to a head faster. Good luck! bella
Thanks for the advice, Bella. When I asked the derm if there was anything that I could do help it out, she said that I could try the retinA. That has not been working. After a while, I might give the cold thing a try.
whoa your lucky. mine is about 3/4 - 1 cm in diameter. i have a few in fact. luckily they are not inflamed but i still dont like having it. i ahve had it for about two years!!! i read the prior posts talking about tea tree oil and heat compress and ice.

is heat compress a fancy name for just putting something hot against it?
