Benzoyl Peroxide (Acnecide 10) - Acne Message Board

Hello all,

I just wish to get any information i can on the product Benzoyl Peroxide 10% gel. Ive been using this for a week as i have very mild acne. My acne tends to be very small spots but thats enough for me. My forehead seems to be the worse and my cheeks and chin are more or less clear. I just wish to know if anyone has used this before and if it actually does the job? If so how long did it take you before you noticed a change? Please Reply.

I used 8% benzoyl peroxide for a while and didn't get really good results. My face got extremely dry and red like I had a constant sunburn. If you experience these side effects, I would try and use a lower strength- maybe between 2-5%, especially if your acne is only mild. I actually had BETTER results (as far as my complexion) with the lower concentrations.

I am doing a BP course now. You should use a 2.5% or 5% water based BP Cream/Gel I think. It will irritate you skin less.

I am using a 5% water based one at the momment and I am getting AMAZING results. Been on this for 6 days and I can't believe how it makes the pimples and bumps just melt away. Of course my redness still remains!
