Olive Leaf Extract

I heard that this herbal supplement was recommended by doctors to treat acne as it is a powerful anti-virul, anti-bacterial, anti-parasitic that works from the inside. It is recommended for people as an alternative to prescription medications and it is purported to be very effective. I have just begun taking it at the 500 mg potency, 9 capsules a day. This is what I heard recommended to begin with. Has anybody experienced the miraculous benefits that are associated with this drug? Has anybody any recommendations on dosage or usage of their own. It seems to be a very promising remedy, if it works...I have also heard it touted for treating ezcema and psoriasis as well as acne.

Re: Olive Leaf Extract

hey sallystarlight, I have never tried olive leaf extract, I have thought about it but, for me the detoxing that you go thru doesn't sound to good. Did you research that? when you take olive leaf the first 3 days it starts to detox your system killing the bacteria, viruses, parasites, worms. etc... you may get a slight headache, dizzy, some breakouts, all good signs that your body is ridding itself of these toxins. This is called the "die-off" effect. You get these symptoms because the olive leaf kills the bacteria , viruses, fungi, infections very quickly. You may want to start off with a very small dose and see how you do on that . If you do decide to take olive leaf do it when you have some time off, or time to relax, due to the unpleasant symptoms you may expereince. I know some people who have taken it and felt better after about week on it, however, they did not feel good while taking it the first 3-5 days. There are many web sites on the net about it, and how to properly take it and what you may expect while on it. check them out before you try it . Good luck <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif">

Re: Olive Leaf Extract

Hey, thanks for the reply...I have been taking the olive leaf extract for 4 days at 4500mg a day...and I haven't experienced any of the supposed flu-like side-effects. It's too soon for me to tell if this is benefiting my skin too. I am planning on taking 4500 mg for at least 10 days, because I figure that is what you would do for a regular antibiotic...give it a full ten days at max potency...afterwards I might shift down to 3000 mg a day and see what happens.
