The area you used it on is red and peeling because it is irritated. Salicylic acid does not cause burning, certainly not at that %. Dont worry, its doing what its supposed to do, make the area dry and peel, thats what salicylic acid does. However, if you dont like how your skin feels using it, dont use it. I wouldnt moisturise the area either. Just dont apply it anymore and in a few days your skin will be back to normal.
