I don't really get spots, I get lumps on my skin. Do any of you get them?? Well, they always turn into scabs which don't go away for ages and I don't like going out when my face is all scaby. As soon as one lump goes another one comes and I am left with another scar. Its really getting me down cos I've just stayed inside this summer and I am beggining to lose touch with my friends over it. My parents don't realise how bad it makes me feel and they are constantly going on at me. I even considered suicide but I am too scared to attempt it.
Does anyone know any home remedies that I could try to make to scabs heal quicker. I've givin up on other products cos I've spents hundreds and nothing has helped. thanks

Is it red?
Do you see a yellow head?
Is it tender?

= nodules/pustules

OR

Is it hard-ish and has no head?

= cysts.

If it is a cyst, you cant really treat it with topical medicine, except maybe retinoids.

Try asking your derm for antibiotics.

Thanks for replying. I think its a cyst then because I can feel a lump but there isn't any redness or anything. Are they common? I thought that I was the only one, none of my friends get them.

They are the less common and more severe type of acne... although being on this board, you'd think that everyone has it. <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wink.gif">

Two choices:

-antibiotics
-birthcontrol pills... (tho im a guy so you'll have to get more info from other people) I have heard however that BCP sometimes cause more problems than it fixes.

In a nutshell, you cant treat cysts with topicals because they are too deep into the skin. Thats the reason why all your remedies didnt work.

Get it treated quickly. They are the type of acne that most frequently leads to indented scars.
