Look around...it seems like almost everyone has pimples.
Do you think it's our fault? Kids don't have pimples and they are mostly unclean, bad eaters...every teen doesn't magically start doing things wrong in their hygiene regimen and boom they break out. It's out of our control.
I just mean.........it's not something that teenagers are doing that is causing it...when I was a kid I of course had perfect skin and it was probably cleaned with water and some kind of soap...and suddenly as a teen it's now my fault that this VERY common annoying 'disease' happens to me? But what did I do? lol
It all depends, but...most all of the guys in the dorms where I visit my friend have pimples. It reinforced my belief that it's just out of our control...unless we take pills, find some remedy...it's just strange.<p>[This message has been edited by AngelaMDarling (edited 10-28-2002).]
yep some people can wash there face with pizza grease while eating chocolate, mayonaise, and diesal and never have a pimple. Then some peopl can eat everything right...drink 4 gallons of water a day, and have cystic acne of death....it is just not right.
its 90% hormonal for me. i.e sex, masterbate etc etc makes my face breakout within 12hours, and take approx 2 to 3 weeks for it to recover provided i dont wank anymore <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif">
That is funny..because I heard it is just the opposite for women. Having sex releases more estrogen which can help our skin. I would guess that when guys have sex it releases more testosterone and that is the hormone that is the acne culprit.
Having just graduated from college this past May, I know all too well how this very dilemma used to plague me all the time at school. I think I broke out more than just about anybody else I knew at school, I mean those big nasty guys which always seem to pop up on your face when you're giving a presentation for public speaking. Ok, there were others who had acne, too, but seemed a lot less frequent than me, though.
What's scary is how many people had PERFECT faces. I mean, guys who I knew who for four years, I could never remember them having one zit. I can't remember too many people sporting attractive acne scars like I do. Definitely nobody else who was using Retin-A or Accutane. What's strange was the number of girls I knew who had acne, especially international girls I worked with at the gym. They seemed to suffer more than the guys did.....strange.
Still, I say about 80% of my school rarely sported a zit. Of course, those with bad acne probably are too self-conscious/depressed to go to college.

I totally agree! I am F and when I have sex my skin looks much better. I asked my derm about this and he said it was just coincidence... I beg to differ!
One more thing I would like to add to the sex topic...it releases stress which is a good thing because then it does not show up on our face!!! <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wink.gif">
Yeah acne's definately out of peoples control. How can people that have a great diet, exercise and de-stress regually, cleanse tone and moisturise everyday etc and still get acne? It doesnt matter what your diet or stress levels or whatever are some people get it and some don't. It is completely out of our control.
