Retin-A... I was given a different kind... is that okay?
Long story short: I go to school in TO, and got prescribed Retin-A Micro Gel at 0.04%. It worked well. I moved home to NS for the summer, and couldn't go back to the doctor to get a refill (she had only prescribed one as a test), so I ran out and decided to go to my doctor here. My doctor here is terrible and had never even HEARD of Retin A, but wrote me the prescription anyway (Again, for Retin A Micro Gel 0.04%). When I got home from the pharmacy, I realized that the pharmacy had actually given me a different type. They have given me Retin-A Gel 0.01%. I thought it would be the same, just stronger, but then I used it just now and it's clear, where as the micro gel has a tint(?) and a different feel to it (I didn't know there were different types of gels offered).
I guess my question is, can I still use it? What are the major differences of Micro Gel 0.04% VS. Gel 0.01%? Will it still be effective. I'm fairly certain that my skin will be able to handle the extra strength, but I want to make sure, seeing as I don't have the help of a doctor here.
