Retin-a or Natural Treatments?

I have always had kind of bad skin, finally took Accutane about 5 years ago, which was a horrible mistake for my body but great for my skin. I had really clear skin up until recently, not getting cystic but just breaking out and have overall redness all the time. I wonder if it from use of excessive products, ie Retin-a and Glycolic pads, also use C Rx system by Obagi.

My question is, is it better to go all natural, with oils and minimal products or use what the dermatologist recommends? I am so torn, need some advice and please share your stories.
