Do you know what is causing these pains. Just because you are 20 doesn't mean it can't be your heart. I get severe chest pains, it hurts to breath, and if I try to stretch out my chest it hurts more, but goes away quicker. I get anxiety attacks. It is weird because I am not an anxious person. It is not like I get these pains when I am in any kind of comprimising situation, but they are anxiety attacks. I personally think the name is inappropriate for me, but I will live with it. If you are at all concerned, go se a doctor. Good luck... <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/tongue.gif">
You know, I'm 20 and my sister is 23 and we both have chest pains sometimes...I don't get them that much anymore, but I think they are caused from heartburn and anxiety. My sister actually has a heart problem, and my dad has the same thing. Check your family background to see if anybody in your family shares this problem with you. Also, for the good of your own health, speak with your doctor and maybe get them to recommend you to a heart specialist to run some tests. Hope you feel better. :P
I am 26 and started experiencing chest pains about 2 years ago. I went in to see my doctor because I was worried about it. He diagnosed me as having angina pectoris, it has to do with not enough oxygen getting to your heart. I took medicine for it for awhile and it really helped a lot. I still get the pains every once in awhile now but its not as bad as it used to be. You might want to check that out, it is possible that it might not be something serious.
GET IT CHECKED OUT BY YOUR DOCTOR.
Just to be sure.
After you do that, what I found to be helpful is to get an elastic ace bandages and wrap it firmly enough around your chest so that it stabilizes your rib cage but not so tight that it cuts off your circulation. I like ace bandages that stick to themselves because they don't slip as bad.
I am a surivior of ARDS-adult/actue resptiory distress syndrome and it is that that is causing my chest pains I believe-I have gone into the doctors and am now started on 2 new inhalers. Thank you to all of you.
