Metadate vs. Ritalin LA
My 9 year old son is taking 10 mg of Ritalin LA (long-acting). It definitely seems to be helping him. The problem is that the lowest dose made for Ritalin LA is 20 mg so we have to open up each capsule and give him half one day and the remainer the second day. We have a hard time giving him exactly 1/2 each day.
By the way, we found that he has problems falling asleep with 20 mg and 10 mg definitely seemed to work for him.
We just received a letter from our prescription program announcing that MetaDate Long Acting is now available and has a 10 mg dose already made up.
So I wanted to know if anyone has opinions on Metadate vs. Ritalin LA.
Are they the same underlying medication, are the doses equivalent?
