Sweet Roxy, I taught school for 15 years and I am unaware of any additional funding that schools receive for students with adhd. If you know of a specific provision that does provide funding for schools based on the number of students with adhd I would be very interested in researching it.
The only link to funding I can think of is Section 504.
Section 504 of the Rehabilitaion Act prohibits
any program (including schools) that receives federal money from discriminating
against individuals with disabilities. Since schools receive federal money (for various programs) they must make special accomodations for children with disabilities.
Some kids with adhd qualify for a 504 plan. When this plan is written the specific classroom accomodations that the child will receive are decided upon based on the idividual needs of the students. There is no extra funding given to schools for 504 plans.
