i was just curious to know if anyone has heard of this or has tried it before? what was your experience?
i am thinking about going the natural way if my daughter doesn't respond well to strattera. she started on 18mg 4 days ago and complained of stomache ache, headache and tiredness. today, though, she is feeling better. we are starting 25mg tonite. so we'll see. i do not want to use a stimulant at all. i do not like the fact that certain websites compare it to cocaine and/or speed.
so if anyone has tried focus could you please tell me what you thought?
Hi,
Who makes the "Focus" supplement you are referring to? Is it a company called Solaray? I just recently purchased that for my daughter. I bought the childrens chewables, but she didn't like the taste so I bought the "Focus for Adults" and give her 1 capsule per day along with a product called "Total EFA Junior" - it is an essential fatty acid (omega 3, omega 6 and omega 9 - oils) supplement for children. I am giving her 2 gelcaps per day. She has been on Straterra for a few months and I have just recently stopped that - about 1 week ago, so she is still dealing with slowly getting that out of her system. I will let you know what kind of results we have with the Focus and EFA. She has only been taking those for a week also. Good luck and let me know what results you have also.
no, its not that one. its frome a site called [[[ brand names only please - never post the website ]]]. it comes in a liquid form and you put drops in their juice or water.
if you don't mind me asking, why did you stop the strattera??
thanx

Hi,
Actually I never really wanted to put her on prescrip meds anyway, but felt like she was getting behind in school and didn't want her to fail. We stopped because it caused headaches on a daily basis, stomache upset, weight loss due to decreased appetite and severe mood swings and anger. It did seem to help her attention and learning ability to begin with but then it seemed to not work as well after a month or so. I have read about alot of other people that say the same thing..it stopped working or didn't work as well after a few months. Anywa, I am not comfortable with the other ADD meds out there - stimulants - and so I am now trying to find a natural treatment. Let me know how the Focus works for you.
i too am not comfortable with stimulants. i am sticking with the strattera for now. she is doing good so far. if it causes bad side effects then i will try the focus. good luck with your daughter.
