| | Knee pain..PLEASE HELP!!
I'm 17 years old and I am a dancer. I have had many successes in my young career and have the confidence to perform on broadway and other venues...but i have a problem. At my studio we have dances that we compete with...and a lot of our dance have intense floor work which basically consists of banging your knees into the ground...and to make things worse the floor in our studio is HARD AS CEMENT...which isnt good considering dance schools should have a "floating floor" that has some give into it. I have had knee pain and i went to the best doctor in my state, and had an MRI. HE said there was no cartilage damage and my knee was very stable. However, i still have minor pain and my kneed pops SOOO much during the day...it even catches and "clicks". MY question is....is doing 7 years of dance on a hard floor going to be extremely detrimental?? and also, if i take care of my body extremly well, can i avoid arthritis? and I take glucosamine chondroitin regularly which is supposesd to ease and reconstruct damaged cartilage, but most doctors act like its a joke...what do you think about it? Please respond, i would appreciate it so much!
