Needed: Books for helping kids with ADD Succeed Emotional and a School - ADD / ADHD Message Board

We are in desperate need of a few good books! Our 10 yr old son is very smart but is miserable at school do to ADHD/Inattentive type.

He has been diagnosed, and has started meds, but he is a very negative, discouraged child with a strong fear of failure.

Would you please recommend your favorite books on "helping kids with ADD be successful and happy" (not books on diagnosing it, we have all those). Your experience is invaluable to us!!

For our Gifted & Talented, ADD son we rely a lot on Carolyn Coil books. They are VERY helpful in figuring out how to motivate him, keep him from underachieving, etc.

If you have a local CHADD chapter it might be a great resource for you. Many of them let you vist a meeting or two before you have to actually become a member (for a fee) but there you would be able to talk directly to other parents in the same situation and hear all about what works and what hasn't worked for others.

ditto.. chadd is a great resource and may have a lending library.
