Question weepy boy on concerta? any one else expierience?

I have an 8 yr old that we just put on Concerta 18mg. We switched him from10mg of ritalin because of the stomach ache, and we saw no change in his attention. His teacher said that he cried 5 differnt times in school today,
This is not a side effect that we were expecting. Anyone else expierence this with their kids?
I am new to this forum and am very thankful for all the insight and information I have seen here tonight.

When my son first started on Ritalin, he was very weepy and startled easily. It was easily corrected by lowering the dose. Good luck! Sue

The thing is he is on a low dose and we do not see any change in his ability to concentrate. Not sure how much longer we should give it? How long before you saw a change n your son?

Re: weepy boy on concerta? any one else expierience?

i have a 9 year old that that has ADHD and had the same problem. after MANY different medications i have found that Adderall XR(30mg) is working great.he has been on it for about a year now.

its a difficult condition to work with especially since its difficult for a child to understand how to cope with and handle there disability

I Can Help

I been on concerta for like three years and I just read this thing about it kind of scary if you ask me!

Side effects of concerta
Deppression, twiching of any part of the body, saying words over and over again, abnormal thoughts or visions, and abnormal sounds.
It said if any of these things happen to your kid you should tell your doc right away o.k.
