Adderall withdrawals...Can anyone share their experience? - ADD / ADHD Message Board

I have been on Adderall for about 7 months. I have had tremendous success using this drug for my ADD. I just recently moved to a different state. I have been looking for a new doctor here in town. I have run out of meds and the soonest appointment I can get is in 2 months. I am currently experiencing a lot of depression and feel extremely tired all of the time. I wish I had prepared better to where I could have tapered off the meds instead of stopping cold turkey. I feel terribly alone

, especially in a new town and with no doctor yet. Can anyone share their experience of withdrawals from Adderall with me. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions/input. Thanks

I was put on Adderall for a disorder called dysautonomia...not anythinglike ADD, but I decided to stop taking it when it was taken off the market in Canada for causing heart-related deaths.
I didn't have any withdraw symptoms when I stopped taking Adderall, but I was weaned off slowly.

Thanks for responding. Do you mind me asking how long you were on Adderall and what was your dosage? And how long did it take to wean yourself, was it over the course of a couple of days or was it more like weeks?

I have been on Adderall XR 30 mg twice a day for almost a year.... I have not tried to stop taking them but sometimes only take one- daily. I couldnt imagine going without them being I am a more than full time student...and adhd... I know that when I need one and dont have one I take a stacker 2, which does help. I hope that you can get to some help soon - if worst came to worst I would go to the local hospital and take a printout of your prescriptions from your old pharmacy and explain your situation. I couldnt honestly imagine living without them or not being able to be weaned from taking them- they are powerful drugs, for sure!
