my 8 year old son adderall xr - ADD / ADHD Message Board

My son was diagnosed with ADDHD and ODD dr. put him on adderall xr 5mg three weeks ago he is telling me and his 16 year old brotheer he can't wait until we die. Yeasterday in school he drew a picture of a little girl and a gravestone her cat died, today at school he told a little girl that he was going to kill her now he has a two day in school suspension. We go to dr in the morning. Can the adderall be puting these thoughts in his head. He is also not sleeping very well either he never talked about killing people or wishing we were dead before he was on medication any help here would be helpfull.

Yes, absolutely, stimulants like Adderall can cause this. I'd stop giving it and talk to your doctor ASAP!

i think im having the same problems, im 19 and the med helped me stay on task like i couldnt believe, but yes i have become very agressive and snap very easy and about to head back to the doctor. does anybody know if there is other stuff out there that i could take with the adderol or do i need to get on something totally diff.
