ADD and ADHD just a cover up

I was always and still am a little corky I guess at times. I used to make noises that would just burst out of my mouth. I couldnt control them. I was diagnost with ADD at the age of 6 following I was put on rediline and some orange luiguid for about a month. But teachers noticed that it acted more like a tranqulizer rather than a stabalizer. The docotors decided I didnt have a severe enough case of ADD.

The doctor couldnt figure out what to do, so they had a pshych come to the school and take me out of class and have me explain pictures and close my eyes and draw what I saw, and explain what they did. Next they made me eat choclate and have about 1/4 a soda every morning before school, to give my brain a boost start. the caffiene boosted me way to much. I would show up at school bouncing off the walls. Finally I had to get up about two hours before school started and watch the good morning today show. They figured it would help with brain function with out the caffiene boost.

When I turned about 11 I was struggling with homework and my grades were hitting rock bottom. I went to a pshych who explained that I had a lot of built in anger, at my mother and father due to there divorce when I was only 2. I never thought I was angry, I just thought thats how parents were. Then he said that me going from parent to parents house 10 times a year wasnt healthy (mainly because it was a 500 mile drive from one to the other). He said I needed a stable environment. I stayed with my mother and saw my dad twice a year.

Soon after I hit rock bottom I attempted suicide numerouse times. I was an emotional wreck, I went to another pshych who had me play video games and such and studied me while I did. He said I had ADHD. I was put on Aderal soon after that.

Everything was going great! Grades were almost strait A's I was happy. That was until I was on my 6 month of taking aderal. I became very sick. When I started my weight was around 105, and I was 5'2. When I got sick I was a mere 80 pounds and 5' even. It had stunted my growth dramatically. It turns out aderal isnt a long term drug. Once I got off I gained weight back but hieght remained the same.

About two weeks after being dry from it I became horribly upset. I attempted suicide at school and was caught. I had to sit in the principals office while she told my mother that I tried to kill myself that was really tough. That night my mom gave me some pills to knock me out and when I awoke I had tons of picture frames all over my room of loved ones and relatives. Thats when I realized what I had.

After High School started I moved to my dads and my mom moved only 20 miles away. Everything went so much smoother. I dont believe I ever had ADD or ADHD I think it was just an excuse for an emotional and stressful child hood.

By the way Now Im about 6 foot and about 180 pounds, (taller than my dad ) haha so it didnt have to much of a permenant effect.

It's very possible your symptoms were caused by stress and emotions; sometimes those things are overlooked in children. If you feel good now, life is better and your symptoms are mild or gone, well there you have it. You may have been misdiagnoised. Glad things are smoother now for you!
