Help! Discontinued Focalin XR, problems!!! - ADD / ADHD Message Board

I need some input from someone with experience with Focalin XR. My 6 year old Son has been having major problems in school with ADHD and ODD. He also has Anxiety. We have been trying all the different medicines for the past year and still have not found something. He was on Focalin XR recently but was not working and was making him sick to his stomach. We stopped giving it to him, yesterday was his last day on it. I had to sit with him in school all day to keep him from acting out but my biggest worry is that he threw up again after dinner and was having stomach pain. He did not have the medicine today, could it still be from the medicine being in his system? How long will it take to clear his system? I have searched everywhere on the internet and the Dr's office is closed. I was very close to taking him to the ER. I'm worried that all of these medicines may be affecting his stomach. Any input would be greatly appreciated. They wanted us to start him on a new medicine this week but I want this stomach pain and vomiting to go away before doing anything else.

yes, it could still be side effects. and ironically, withdrawal symptoms are sometimes the same or simular as the side effects.

Thank you! I am freaking out about the stomach pain and throwing up but I did find something about withdrawal but not the symptoms. I will call the doctor today. Thanks! Any suggestions about what to try now? We have tried Adderall, which worked great but his heart rate was so high on it, Concerta didn't work all that great and abilify had too many side effects, like drowsiness and dry mouth and over eating. I'm thinking about going back and trying the Concerta. They want him to take a mood stabilizer also. The next one on their list is Risperidal.
